SCANDAL
The Profumo Affair of 1963 was a sordid cocktail of high society, wealth, sex, politics and espionage. Now the sensational story of a cabinet minister, showgirl and Soviet naval attaché has inspired the latest collection by New Zealand's leading designer of leather fashion garments, Caroline Moore.
"The story of the affair lent itself to the shapes, styles and opulence of the collection." says Moore.
The flirty sixties tailored trench-like styling's of Caroline Moore's Keeler and Mandy Coats echo the trends that formed the vanguard of the swinging sixties.
The luxurious Ivanov, KGB, Attache, Soviet and Cold War coat and jackets have distinctly Russian flavour that contrasts with the straight laced suit-like styling's of the Astor, Politics and Profumo jackets and the doctors-coat feel of the ward jacket.
Other men involved in the tangled scandal shine through in the slick design and bold colours of the Lucky Gordon and Edgecome Jackets.
Whether they are attending a glamorous event or creating a scandal, Caroline Moore women are unforgettable.
